Men's Fashion/Dress for Success

To me, nothing is sexier than a man who knows how to dress himself in a suit. It doesn't have to be expensive, you can find a perfectly good suit at a decent price and it'll look just as good as an Armani suit. As long as it isn't the one that your mom bought you when you were 13 and said you would "grow into" and that you wear to all the funerals and weddings since then. Back to the whole first impression thing, what do you think when a man walks in wearing a suit and tie? Some things that pop into my head are...
  • He's a business man.
  • He's got money.
  • He is serious about his job.
  • He is smart.

“Act as if! Act as if you're a wealthy man, rich already, and then you'll surely become rich. Act as if you have unmatched confidence and then people will surely have confidence in you. Act as if you have unmatched experience and then people will follow your advice. And act as if you are already a tremendous success, and as sure as I stand here today - you will become successful.”
- Jordan Belfort, The Wolf of Wall Street

This quote could not be more true to me. Although he isn't talking about clothing I think if you dress like you're going to succeed then you most definitely will. I always have the best days when I'm confident in myself on the inside and the outside. If I ever have a presentation or something for school I always dress up because if I feel good on the outside it's going to reflect to myself on the inside. "Fake it until you make it." My volleyball coach used to constantly tell my team this because if we acted excited and energetic at the beginning of the game it would intimidate the other team and we would win. So act/dress like you're Jordan Belfort and see where life takes you, just not the jail part.

  1. I think the same things when I see a guy in a suit! Definitely a good first impression to me! And I really like the quotes you included too.

  2. This post needs to be sent to out most of the guys at my work, they usually show up in wrinkled up dress shirts and slacks. I always hear the occasional "Wow it looks like the wife didn't dress you up today" thrown around by the women of the office. I personally like to dress nice and think it's essential as a man to be presentable in any professional setting.
